Forward thinking producer/trumpeter/ composer Ivan Jackson Rosenberg has a knack for creative conceptualization and an eye on the future, while keeping his listeners satisfied, interested, and wanting more.

Originally from Manhattan, NY, Ivan grew up surrounded by music. Inspired by his father, Chris Rosenberg (guitarist for free jazz legend Ornette Coleman), he knew he wanted to be a professional musician from a very young age. Ivan started taking piano lessons from the age of 6, guitar lessons from the age of 8, and trumpet lessons from the age of 9. A few years later, he decided to pursue the trumpet primarily.

Taking inspiration from diverse artists such as James Blake, Bjork,  D’angelo, Robert Glasper, Bon Iver, Kurt Rosenwinkle, and Claude Debussy, Ivan’s work as a composer can be heard in several bands that he leads or plays with in New York City, including The Boost Trio (featuring live looping with a drummer and a bassist) and Foreign//Native, his large ensemble.

Ivan has played many major venues in the US, including New York City venues Brooklyn Bowl,  Marquee,  Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, Highline Ballroom, Smalls Jazz Club, and the 55 Bar; New Orleans venues Tipitina's and Blue Nile, Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre and San Francisco's Yoshi's. A recent graduate of Manhattan School of Music (class of 2013), Ivan studied under "trumpet mother" of New York City, Laurie Frink.

As well as being an in demand trumpet player on the New York City live music scene, Ivan co-founded an audio/ visual production company in 2012 called Candid Music Group. Since then, he has started a career as a record producer, and has explored the world of electronic music production. He released the "Things EP" on June 17th. It can be found here:
